Cannot read chinese characters windows 8
Windows 8. Use this forum to discuss miscellaneous issues that cannot be covered in any other Windows 8. Sign in to vote. The input method is Microsoft Pinyin SimpleFast. At the bottom right hand corner of my Windows desktop, there is a toggle that I can use to switch between English and Chinese. When I toggle it to Chinese and try to type Chinese characters on to this box, I don't have a menu bar popping up with all the available Chinese characters for me to choose from.
How do I fix the above problem? Monday, March 25, AM. If it does not work after pressing Shift to switch, reinstall the input and see if it works. I used to run Engish windows, and as you said, I was able to view Japanese websites, and input Japanese characters, but I couldn't install any Japanse software into my comptuer without the characters getting all messed up. The good news is, the opposite is NOT true.
If you buy a Chinese version of windows, all English software works no problem. I have heard that Windows Vista will allow us to select what language version we want to run, and with the click of a tab, switch from language to language like you can with a Mac.

Tuesday, November 20, AM. I figured out the problem, so maybe this will help if anyone else runs into this. These programs which don't display properly do not support Unicode. United States English.
